Internet Marketing Strategies – Create Your Own Ezine to Boost Online Income

Saturday, August 30th, 2008
Kyle Larson asked:

Over 300,000 authors are writing ample amounts of articles with free rights to republish as you choose. The best Internet Marketers will tack in on all of their resources to generate as much profit as possible. But how can a simple, online magazine do anything for my business? Or, in other words:

Why Should I Create And Publish My Own Ezine/Online Newsletter?

Absolutely free, unless you want to pay for creation software. Provides effective communication between you and your site visitors. You will build an efficient email-list from your subscribers. Customizable options for writing, publishing, and formats. Providing your subscribers information makes them feel “in debt” towards you. They will be quicker to buy your product. Produce a constant stream of revenue with free ads from programs like Google AdSense (or advertise with affiliate links) Share your Ezine across the web by syndicating it with RSS feeds.

If you ware willing to put forth a little time and effort, you have everything it takes to setup a cutting edge, revenue-generating Ezine. Ready to roll? Here we go.

Step 1) Setup an easy and reliable way for visitors to subscribe. This could be on your website, blog, or even Facebook page. This does not have to be a highly-complicated process! If you think you need an automated subscribing system, with welcoming messages and unsubscribe options, you are wrong. Rather, your subscribing system can be as simple as “email me “here” if you would like to receive the next copy of my fantastic Ezine!” Short, sweet, and simple.

Step 2) Pick A Title For Your Ezine. You only get this opportunity once, so pick wisely! Remember, make your title relate to the specific topic of your Ezine. Bonus points for rhymes, and/or catchy phrases.

Step 3) Select the best format for your Ezine. In general, there are three basic methods to present your editions:

HTML Format. If you plan on posting your Ezine on your website, this is most likely the best option for you. You can add font colors, pictures, advertisements, flashy templates, video, and other media into an HTML based format. Plain Text. If you do not own a website, or have no interest in publishing your copies onto one, then you have one option left, emailing. Unfortunately, most emails no longer accept HTML format. You will still be able to place your content and pictures, but no advertisements (unless you are affiliating with regular text ads). Document or PDF Format. If you want a download-able Ezine, than this is the right option for you. Simply put out your articles onto a Word Document, add pictures, and export as a PDF. You can then upload this file to your web-page, or attach it to outgoing emails. I do not believe it is possible to place Adsense ads into a PDF, but you can place simple images with links back to your website. Going further, you might consider inserting a few affiliate links and generate income that way.
Step 4) Get sources for your content. Once again, there are multiple options here:

You. The simplest way to fill your Ezine with content is to add it yourself! Of course, there are multiple cons to this situation. First, you may very easily run out of ideas to write articles on. Second, you might get bored of constructing the next issue of your Ezine. Third, it is very possible that your subscribers will grow tired of listening to you. Subscribers. If they like reading it, maybe they will enjoy writing it! You can setup a simple web form to allow your subscribers to submit their articles (I recommend Response-O-Matic, Google it). Unfortunately, you will have to include their links, which may guide traffic away from you. Article Directories. There are, literally, millions of articles floating around on directories waiting to be republished. The article you are reading is one of them. Feel free to republish articles from popular directories like Ezine Articles, Articles Base, and Article Dashboard. Note: Each article directory has a separate set of rules for publishers. Make sure to analyze these before you republish so you don’t end up doing something illegal.
Step 5) Monetize. Now that the content is added, you need to provide a way for your readers to generate some cash for you. Sneak a few advertisements between articles. Once again, with an HTML Ezine, use Google AdSense. With a plain text or PDF Ezine, use affiliate text ads.

Step 6) Publish and spread! Your Ezine is finished, so tell your friends, email it to your contacts, and spread the word offline. Consider making your own RSS feed for your Ezine so you can frequently inform the Net about your updates and new editions.

Final Tip: You may want to consider making a blog for your Ezine. Here a few benefits of having a blog:

Blogs are free to create. I recommend using blogger (a free blog site hosted by Google). HTML is accepted. With that in mind, you can use a blog regardless of what format it is in. Easily monetize. Blogger allows you to easily slip AdSense ads between posts and on sidebars. Allows subscribers to give feedback. This will allow you to fix any errors your subscribers have noticed. A Blog will record all posts, so new subscribers can see what they missed.

Internet Marketing Strategies – 3 Must Use Techniques

Saturday, August 16th, 2008
Nick Brosnan asked:

So you finally have your business set up and you’re looking to find a cost-effective way to advertise your website. Although the fastest way to advertise is to use paid media, it’s not always the most effective. Depending on the product you sell, you could be saving thousands of dollars every month by trying other means to advertise. This article will tell you three different ways on how you can increase sales with anything online.

Article Marketing

Article marketing is hugely popular right now. Before people ever buy a product, they usually search for a review of it first. Submitting articles to websites like Ezine Articles can make you a fortune because thousands of people go there to get info about pretty much everything.

If you write five product reviews every day and have the link go back to your website, you will get tons of traffic and even better, targeted customers. It costs nothing to submit these articles to the website and you even get a link going straight back to your main page which raises your page rank.

Social Bookmarking

Social bookmarking is a bit trickier, but can be hugely beneficial if used with the right products. Essentially, when you socially bookmark something you share it with other people. Using sites like Digg, StumbleUpon, and Twitter, you can have others talk about your website and your products to build up hype and name recognition. It’s not certain whether or not you will make sales, but it will help your company image to become better known.

You can manually submit these services or hire another agency to do it for you. You can even go as far as buying advertising space from these websites so that real people will be forced to see your link. Social advertising can be risky, but once you figure out how to do it effectively there is nothing better for your business.

Search Engine Optimisation

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the best free way to make the most money from sales. When somebody types in a keyword phrase into Google or Yahoo, it brings up a list of sites. Most people click on the first three links that show up so if you can get your website on there, you will gain insane amounts of traffic.

Millions of people search for keywords such as “free credit report” and “mortgage loans” every day. If your company is related to that you can get millions of customers every day without paying a dime. The trick is building your website so it does appear first because Google doesn’t put the most popular website up, it puts the most relevant.

Using search engine optimization, you can optimize your site to show up for certain keywords. There is no one hundred percent exact way to do this, but by building large amounts of back links and optimising your site for the right keywords you will have the top spot before you know it.

Although success with the above internet marketing strategies is not guaranteed or instant, they are the foundation to a successful internet marketing campaign and something that you cannot do without.

Internet Book Marketing-3 Tools That Practically Sell Your Book Themselves

Thursday, August 7th, 2008
Bob Burnham asked:

Looking for internet book marketing tools that are practically hands free? Add these three tools to your arsenal and you’ll be certain to sell your book.

Internet Book Marketing Tool # 1 Website Marketing

Possibly the most critical tool for a self published author is your website. A well optimized web site, meaning that people searching for your information can find it quickly and easily via the search engines like Google or Yahoo, means targeted traffic and customers are led directly to your book.

A well written landing page that captures email addresses and sells your information can sell thousands of books. Add a few pages of free content that provide immediate benefit to your reader and credibility to your status as an author and you’re well on your way to becoming a ‘profitable’ self published author.

As a self published author, your website can offer a variety of pages to their visitor including:

o Ezine/newsletter subscription

o Free Articles and/or short stories

o Bio

o Sales page

o Links to stores

o Shopping cart to purchase directly from the website

o List of appearances/promotions

Internet Book Marketing Tool # 2 Ezine Marketing Magic

Ezine marketing is not only a great way to build your opt in list, it is a fantastic tool to sell your book, your information products, and any affiliate products that you choose to endorse. Additionally, it provides you with a constant means of communication to your target market and the ability to provide them with quality information that will benefit their lives. The time saving aspect of this tool is that you don’t have to struggle to come up with content. You’ve already written your book. Pull one or two useful paragraphs from your book, round it out, and you have an ezine article!

In addition to publishing your own ezine you can contribute to other relevant ezines, just make sure that you provide a link back to your own website and product line. You can also purchase inexpensive ad space in relevant ezines to market your book. For example, if your book is a small business book, you can purchase ad space in other small business newsletters and link directly to your website.

Internet Book Marketing Tool # 3 Rave Reviews

Reviews are the proof to others that your book is worth the money it costs. Reviews can be used in your publicity package, in your press release, on your book’s back cover, on your website, and even on your business card. They are a valuable and economic expert marketing tool. Visit our website or click on the following link to learn more about secrets to getting rave reviews.

Internet book marketing doesn’t have to be an all consuming struggle. It’s true that the more time you spend marketing your book, the more you’re going to sell. But why not use a few tried and true marketing tools that drive traffic and sales to your book with little or no work from you?

One Minute Marketing

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008
Penny Sansevieri asked:

So, you say you’re too busy to market your book? Well, welcome to the club. Most of the authors I work with or coach work day jobs and try to cram in as much marketing as they can after they come home from an exhausting day at the office. Working this way can be completely overwhelming. It’s no wonder most authors only market their books for ninety days. Who could stand to keep up this pace any longer than that? There were so many things authors need to do, most simply don’t know where to start.

Enter the one minute marketer. As tempting as it is, we can’t do everything. It’s just not realistic. Instead, try doing just three things a day. I found that authors are not only more focused this way but tend to be a hundred times more effective. If you’re marketing your own book and you’re becoming overwhelmed by the magnitude of the work ahead of you, try doing just three things a day. Some of these will only take you a minute and in one week alone you’ll have promoted your book in fifteen new ways. And remember, your three things don’t have to be earth shattering, they can be as simple as sending a thank you note.

Here are a few ideas you can implement today:

1. Call your local library and sign up to do a talk. You won’t get paid for this, but they will let you sell your book (for a 10% commission back to the library).

2. Want to drive more attention to your book? How about creating a contest! Contests are great promotional tools. Design one around the topic of your book. For example, I’ll be holding a contest soon asking people for the top ten things NOT to do when you’re marketing your book. Get the idea?

3. Pitch your story to a local radio and/or tv station.

4. How’s your web site these days? Remember, it’s your 24/7 marketing tool so make sure it’s up to date.

5. And while you’re updating your web site, why not list it on search engines like Google, Alta Vista. Or go over to http://www.addme.com and let them do it for you…for free!

6. Have you thought about submitting an article to a topic-related ezine? Ezine publishers are always looking for content! If you currently subscribe to an email newsletter that you’d like to contribute to, email the editor and ask them what their guidelines are. Or, you can submit your article by registering at the following yahoo group: Publish In Yours (PublishInYours-subscribe@yahoogroups.com).

7. Have you started calling bookstores for signings? Why not start that today.

8. Send your thank you notes! Whether it’s to a news person who did a feature on you or to the book store manager who recently hosted your book signing, saying “thank you” is a great marketing tool!

9. Magazine articles are a great way to get exposure. Why not submit an article (or book excerpt) to a topic-related magazine today?

10. Are you a member of all the pertinent organizations in your field of writing? If not, you should be. For example, if you wrote a mystery novel you should think about joining a mystery writing group in your area. Not only will you be able to promote your book at meetings but most groups are always looking for speakers.

Happy Marketing!
